Park Pavilion in Central Park, one of Santa Clara’s many

| In His Own Words |
| About his artwork, Bob Magneson explains: In
my painting I use the impressionistic approach to portray the
joy that nature shows me. As a plein-air painter, my landscapes
interpret reality with exaggerated light and color and over
simplification. Instead of blue sky and green trees, I see a
rainbow of color that I paint with little touches of reds and
yellows to make the blue sky more blue and the greens more vivid.
Interpreting local landmarks of the Silicon Valley Area is a
challenge of my more recent work. I have fun with exaggerated
perspective and richer color. |
