At the Planning Commission meeting of March 12, 2008, a public meeting was held to review the project request for 3610 and 3700 El Camino Real, and the request to certify the Environmental Impact Report, rezone the site from Community Commercial (CC) to Planned Development (PD) and consider the Development Agreement for a mixed use development of up to 490 residential units, 12,300 sq. ft. of office use, and 171,100 square feet of retail space. Consideration was also given to a tentative subdivision map to create five parcels with air space condominiums above; and for a variance to reduce the on-site parking requirement from 1,876 to 1,762 spaces. Following public presentation and testimony, the Planning Commission continued the project for up to 90 days to address the issues presented in the public hearing for the project.
At the May 28, 2008 meeting, the Planning Commission continued this item. The project status is as follows:
Following the March 12, 2008, Planning Commission meeting, City staff met with the property owner and project team on three separate occasions to outline the publicly presented issues of concern, and to provide direction and discuss procedural process to facilitate the application. The property owner and project team are working to analyze the information presented, to develop solutions and to prepare a revised submittal for review. Should the property owner and project team submit a revised application, the project will be processed for internal review and noticed for public hearing upon completion of procedural requires for environmental and City review. At that time, public notice will be provided to property owners within 1,000 feet of the project site. |
