Commercial brokers learn more about Santa Clara

A program to educate commercial real estate brokers about the benefits and advantages of locating a business in the City of Santa Clara now has 30 “alumni” members who qualify to be part of the City’s Certified Broker Network. This status allows them to post their names, company information and specialties on the City’s new economic development website, movetosantaclara.com.

Since 2003, the City and the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce have hosted a series of two-hour workshops that review the permitting process and cover other information about doing business in Santa Clara. Commercial brokers learn about the benefits of running a business in Santa Clara, something most existing City businesses already know.

The City’s dependable and well-maintained infrastructure, and outstanding public safety record make it an appealing place for existing or expanding local businesses, and others contemplating moving here. Santa Clara businesses save an average of 30 – 40% on energy costs alone (up to $1.00 per square-foot per month equivalent) while enjoying the lowest combined electric, water and sewer rates in the nine Bay Area counties. The City of Santa Clara has also received a rating as one of Northern California’s least expensive cities in which to operate a business (2004 Kosmont-Rose Institute “Cost of Doing Business Survey”). More and more companies are discovering the unparalleled advantages of operating in the City of Santa Clara.
