| Education and Experience |
| Graduation from high school
or its equivalent and one (1) year of paid experience as a stock or
shipping clerk. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted
on a year-for-year basis for the required education, for a maximum
of four (4) years. |

| Possession of an appropriate
California driver’s license issued is required. |
| |
| Typical Duties |
| Under general supervision,
receives delivery of ordered supplies, materials and equipment at
loading dock and compares items with freight bills; inspects deliveries
for conformance with purchase order specifications and freedom from
damage; fills stores requisitions; completes receiving reports and
forwards purchase orders and other pertinent materials to warehouse
office; sorts and evaluates the salvageability of materials returned
by field crews; moves material to and from storage, loading and salvage
areas by handtruck or forklift; stores stock material in appropriate
storage locations; drives light vehicle to pick up and deliver supplies
and materials; participates in monthly and annual physical inventories,
packs and crates material for shipment; performs custodial duties
in keeping storage facilities and storage yard areas clean and orderly;
performs and inspects lock-up of doors and gates around City warehouse
and yard; performs minor maintenance on tools and equipment; may be
requested to post issues and returns to bin cards, and does related
work as required. |

| Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities |
| Working knowledge of: storekeeping
practices and procedures; stock control and inventory methods. Good
ability to: follow oral and simple written instructions; operate forklift
and related materials-handling equipment; establish and maintain cooperative
working relationships with others; write legibly and solve simple
arithmetic problems. Good physical ability to move moderately heavy
and/or bulky material. |
