Santa Clarans Honored For Outstanding Holiday Decorations

Santa Clara, Calif. – December 15, 2005 – Nine homes have been recognized by the City of Santa Clara for outstanding decorations in the 20th Annual Holiday Decorations Awards program. Nominations made by the community were reviewed by volunteers from the Santa Clara Senior Center. Awards were based on originality, use of lighting, color, and festive mood. Winners selected from the nominated individual homes were:

	The Amelia Home	3453 San Marcos Way
	The Best Home	2976 Taper Avenue
	The Cassidy Home	375 Los Padres Blvd. (Special Recognition for the highest score)
	The Chavez Home	345 Sloat Court
	The Clouse Home	2015 Main Street
	The Longshore Home	716 Layton Court
	The Robinson Home	1732 Los Padres Blvd.
	The Stannard Home	1450 Bellomy Street
	The Starnes Home	3190 James Court


In addition to these homes, honorable mention was given to four homes with unusual and noteworthy decorations.

	The Black Home	736 Layton Court
	The Bunce Home	1451 Lincoln Avenue
	The Fernandes Home	1040 Pomeroy Avenue
	The Loredo Home	747 Layton Court

The Layton Court Neighborhood was selected to receive a neighborhood award for their holiday decorations, and an honorable mention was given to the Taper Avenue neighborhood. The best tree award went to the Best Family at 2976 Taper Ave. Winners will receive Certificates of Appreciation at the Tuesday, January 10, 2006 City Council meeting, City Hall, 1500 Warburton Avenue in Santa Clara. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
