Santa Clara, Calif. – March 9, 2005 – The City of Santa Clara currently has one vacancy on the Civil Service Commission for the term ending June 30, 2006. The deadline to receive applications has been extended to Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at 5 p.m. Interviews will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
The 5-member Civil Service Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to Civil Service rules and regulations and acts as a Board of Review to hear petitions by Civil Service employees and applicants.
The City is also seeking residents who may be interested in serving on any of the City’s nine boards or commissions, or a City committee. Your name can be placed on a mailing list, and you will be notified when vacancies occur. The commissions/committee are: Board of Library Trustees, Civil Service Commission, Cultural Advisory Commission, Historical & Landmarks Commission, International Exchange Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Senior Citizens Advisory Commission, Youth Commission, and the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee.
