Mission City Center for Performing Arts
3250 Monroe Street Map It

The Mission City Center for Performing Arts celebrated its grand opening on February 12, 2005. The project was a joint venture between the Santa Clara Unified School District and the City of Santa Clara, and it reflects the great support of our Santa Clara residents for the arts in our schools and the community. The School District paid for two-thirds of the center’s 12.4 million cost from Measure B bonds that were approved by voters in 1997. The city funded the remainder through its Capital Improvements Projects budget.

The 350-seat community theater includes a 65-foot fly (the space above the stage), an orchestra pit, state-of-the-art acoustics, lighting and sound systems, stage set design space, and a rehearsal and performance room. The center will be used by students and staff during the day and will be available to civic and professional organizations during non-school hours.

For more information, call Jennifer Smith, Technical Director & Theater Manager at (408) 423-2425 extension 5.
