Three recent high school graduates heading off to college this fall to pursue careers in energy services, public power and/or the power industry were awarded $5,000 scholarships from Silicon Valley Power, the City’s municipal Electric Utility.

The recipients were Kyle Husmann and Ao “Arthur” Xu from Wilcox High School, and Chris Ringer from Santa Clara High School.  Husmann will attend California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo this fall to major in electrical energy.  Ringer is also enrolled in Cal Poly and plans to major in environmental engineering.  Xu is a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a double major in engineering and business.
