Customer Service

For sewer problems such as slow drainage, back-ups, bad smells, etc., call the City first, (weekdays 8am-5pm) at (408) 615-2000. After hours and weekends call (408) 615-5640. Many times the problem can be resolved without contacting a private plumber if the resident has a City Sewer Lateral Cleanout. There is no charge for a City response.

Installation Services & Fees

The City collects a one-time sewer connection fee. For information regarding new sewer laterals and mains, contact the City Engineering Department at (408) 615-3000.

A Cleanout is a one-way access point, installed at the City's right-of-way, usually located a few feet behind the sidewalk. There is a one time charge of $290 for this installation. For more information, see Sewer Cleanout (PDF). (Requires an Adobe Acrobat Reader which may be downloaded for free.)

Sewer lateral video inspection - cost is $275.
