Shred Day

Senior Shred Day
Santa Clara Senior Center
Drop-off Zone on Harrison Street behind Senior Center

Friday October 11, 2013
9:00 am – 12:00 noon

Are you a senior who is being buried in piles of paper work? You are not alone and we can help. A partnership between ARMA Silicon Valley Chapter, Iron Mountain, and the City of Santa Clara will provide an opportunity for seniors age 50+ to safely dispose of that paper clutter.

Seniors may bring up to four cubic feet of shred material (approximately 3 boxes measuring 10” X 12” X 16”). A drop-off zone will be located ON Harrison street directly behind the Senior Center. Please do not drive into the back parking lot. The drop-off zone is designated for drop-off only and those who wish to view their material while it is shredded may find parking and bring material to the drop-off zone area where they will be assisted to the video viewer.

For those unable to attend on Friday morning, there will be two (2) locked secure bins available at the Senior center from Tuesday October 8 through Thursday October 10. You may deposit your shred material at this time on a first come/first serve basis. The bins will be removed when they are full and at that time no further advance shred material will be collected.

Unsure what to dispose of? ARMA’s Record Retention Schedule provides information regarding document/record retention and storage. Pick up a copy at the Senior Center or visit us online at www.santaclaraca.gov. Call the Senior Center 1-408-615-3170 with questions.
