Build confidence, sharpen your critical-thinking skills, and learn the fundamentals of competitive debate in this interactive two-session workshop. Participants will learn how to organize persuasive arguments, respond to opposing viewpoints, take effective notes, speak with confidence, and work with teammates.

Through guided activities, examples, handouts, and a hands-on mock debate, students will have the opportunity to practice their new skills in a supportive environment.

No previous debate experience required: this program is ideal for beginners and students interested in improving their communication and public-speaking abilities. This program is intended for teens ages 13+
