The Senior Advisory Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters affecting people age 50 and older in the City, including health, education, employment, housing, transportation and recreation. The Commission consists of seven Commissioners that are volunteers and are appointed by the City Council. To be eligible, you must be a registered voter and resident of Santa Clara, and may not hold any paid office in, or be employed by, the City of Santa Clara. “BE STRONG, LIVE LONG” Health & Wellness Fair

Friday, May 18th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join the Santa Clara Senior Center for the second annual Health & Wellness Fair in Fremont Park (next to the Senior Center), to celebrate and support older adults who are working to improve their own health and who are also caring for their older family members.  With more than 30 Exhibitor booths specializing in health issues, attendees can:

· Gather information on how to age in place

· Take part in free Hearing and Vision Screenings (thanks to Lions Club Santa Clara)

· Tap into community resources

· Get your lumps and bumps skin checks by the Kaiser Comprehensive Cancer Care Mobile Van

· Tour the Senior Center

· Check out the NEW Bookmobile from the Santa Clara Library

This special event will be packed full of helpful information, healthy living tips, food, music, and fun….You won’t want to miss it!  BBQ lunch will be available for $5.00 between 11:30 am – 1:00 pm.
