We heard from parents that they find Parent-Teacher Conferences, Back to School and Open Houses are exciting ways to engage with your child's teacher. However, parents don't know what to ask, don't have enough time to get all of their questions out, and are overwhelmed by the process. Learn from our Parent Educator how to:
What questions should I ask the teacher during Parent-Teacher conference?
My child is struggling on homework and class assignments. What should I do as a parent?
How do I take the teacher’s constructive feedback to change my child’s behavior?
My child is having problems with another student in class (behavior, hitting, biting, etc). Should I tell the teacher? What can they do?
Should both parents attend these sessions? What happens if one parent cannot attend due to work commitments? Is Skype ok? Facetime?
Should I attend Back to School Nights and Open Houses or are they a complete waste of time?
During an open house, what should I observe in the classroom?
What do I say or not say to the teacher during open houses?
What happens if I do not like the teacher’s comments and/or personality?
