To Our Community,
To do our part in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19, all City of Santa Clara libraries have been closed at this time. Our staff is continuing to work to provide you with services and information. We would like to take a moment to answer some frequently asked questions:
How long will the library be closed?
Per the Shelter in Place Order, our libraries will be closed until at least April 7th. *This date has been updated to reflect the Shelter-In-Place continuation and will now be May 3rd. This date may be reassessed and we will be updating our community as we have more information.
Since the library is closed, what should I do about my books?
At this time, we are asking that you keep your library materials with you. You may return your items when the library reopen. All items that are checked out have had their due dates extended past the current closure date.
What if my items are due during this time?
All checked out items will have automatic renewal and have had their due dates extended past the current closure date. If your item is still due during the closure dates, you can continue to keep the item and no late fees will be added to your account when we reopen.
What if I have an item like a chromebook, hotspot, a Browsing Item or a LINK+ item?
We have extended the due dates for these items as well and you can keep these items until we reopen with no penalties.
What about library fines during this time?
No late fees will be added to your account during this time.
What if I have holds to pick up?
Since our libraries are closed, holds have been temporarily suspended. You will not be able to pick up holds at any of our libraries. When the library reopens, you will be able to pick up your holds.
My library card is about to expire, what can I do?
Any library card with an expiration date during this closure time has been updated.
