Dogs in Other Parks

In all other parks, dogs must remain on a 6-foot leash.

We understand that there may be times when you are using a trail or park with your furry companion and need to use the restroom.  Dogs, other than service dogs, are not allowed in public buildings, and a dog outside while you use the restroom is not always the safest option.  If you are alone with your non-service dog and need to use a public restroom in a park, please…

  • If you are feeling confident, announce that you are entering the restroom with a dog
  • Keep your dog on a 6-foot leash, close to you when you enter the restroom
  • Keep the dog in the stall with you
  • Do not let your dog walk under partitions into adjoining stalls or place its head into or look into other stalls
  • Do not let your dog approach other restroom users uninvited; not everyone is comfortable around dogs
  • Finally, we know accidents can happen- if one does, please clean it up to the best of your ability
