Local Updates on Coronavirus Outbreak
To help you stay informed, the City of Santa Clara has created a webpage that will be updated as new information with a local impact becomes available: Coronavirus Updates.
On March 11, 2020, the City of Santa Clara declared a local state of emergency due to the growing novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak in Santa Clara County. The City began providing only essential services as of March 17, 2020. The City is in regular communications with the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department, the County's Office of Emergency Management and other community partners in regards to the public health emergency.
Update 7/9/2020: Beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2020, the Santa Clara Skate Park will be open for FREE one hour Skate Sessions three days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for ages 5 and older.
- Advanced online registration is required for a one hour time slot.
- Visit apm.activecommunities.com/santaclara/ and search “Skate Park” to view available sessions.
- Participants must use their own equipment as loaning or sharing equipment is not allowed. Skaters must wear a face covering except when skating and abide by County social distancing protocols and health & safety requirements.

On Thursday, July 9, the County of Santa Clara Department of Public Health announced 132 new cases for a total of 5,678, with one additional death for a total of 166 deaths due to COVID-19 in the county. There are 10 new cases for a total of 289 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city of Santa Clara. View the County Public Health data dashboard.
