Local Updates on Coronavirus Outbreak

To help you stay informed, the City of Santa Clara has created a webpage that will be updated as new information with a local impact becomes available: Coronavirus Updates

On March 11, 2020, the City of Santa Clara declared a local state of emergency due to the growing novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak in Santa Clara County. The City began providing only essential services as of March 17, 2020. The City is in regular communications with the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department, the County's Office of Emergency Management and other community partners in regards to the public health emergency.

Update 5/31/2020: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the CDC and academic partners have narrowed the timeline of when COVID-19 limited community transmission likely started in the U.S. to between Jan. 18, 2020 and Feb. 9, 2020. For more details, visit the CDC website.

The County of Santa Clara Department of Public Health announced 46 new cases for a total of 2,776 with no additional deaths for a total of 141 deaths due to COVID-19 in the county. There are two new cases for a total of 129 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city of Santa Clara. View the County Public Health data dashboard.
