Each household should have received an invitation to fill out the Census in one of three ways: online, by phone or by mail. Responding to the Census helps communities get funding for school lunch programs, medical treatment, housing services, education and more. The current COVID-19 outbreak and shelter-in-place order has impacted some Census activities, but households can still fill out the questionnaire in the privacy of their own home. Visit to respond online or call 844-330-2020 to complete the survey by phone. Both options include a choice of 13 languages with additional translation guides available online.

Follow along to see how many Santa Clarans have responded! Below are a few response rates, but more can be found on the 2020 Census website:

  • Santa Clara = 46.2%
  • Santa Clara County = 45.7%
  • California = 37.9%
  • United States = 39.4%
