National Night Out Rescheduled to October 6
Be Creative! Start to Plan Your Neighborhood Event
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes community-police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
Generally, National Night Out takes place on the first Tuesday of August. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Association of Town Watch is recommending National Night Out 2020 be celebrated in October with social distancing in place.
As a result, the Santa Clara Police Department is tentatively rescheduling National Night Out to Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. The event will be compliant with local Health Orders regulations; more details will be provided as the event nears. It will continue to be our goal to:
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships
- Heighten crime prevention awareness
- Generate support for, and participation in, local crime prevention efforts
- Build connections within the community and get to know your neighbors
Be creative! Start to plan your neighborhood block party, potluck, BBQ, picnic, ice cream social or safety meeting. Register your neighborhood event - Police, Fire, City and School District representatives will attempt to attend as time and circumstances allow. The registration deadline is September 25, 2020.
