On June 14, 2023 at approximately 2:03 p.m., Santa Clara police officers responded to the report of a solo vehicle collision on San Tomas Expressway and Forbes Avenue. When officers arrived, they located a white 2021 Tesla Model Y which had collided with a tree. Two occupants were located inside the vehicle. Both occupants were pronounced deceased by Santa Clara Fire Department paramedics.

Prior to the collision, the vehicle was seen traveling northbound on San Tomas Expressway approaching Forbes Avenue.

The occupants of the vehicle were identified as a 44-year-old female and her 12-year-old daughter. They were both residents of Los Gatos, CA.
