Reserve Firefighters- City of Santa Clara

  • Community List
  • Service Address777 Benton Street, Santa Clara 95050

Even though the City of Santa Clara maintains a full-time, professional Fire Department, the volunteer force, which was created in 1854, has been retained as a viable part of the City's fire fighting and emergency response force.

Previous fire service experience is not required. All reserve firefighters are put through a mini academy and then provided on-going routine training in standard rescue and firefighting procedures. In a normal month, a reserve firefighter will have the opportunities to receive approximately 20 to 30 hours of fire service training and numerous hours of actual incident experience.

Being a Reserve Firefighter is also an opportunity for you to participate in our community. More information can be found on the Reserve Firefighter webpage.
