Project Sentinel is a nonprofit fair housing agency that assists Northern Californians with housing needs, including discrimination and landlord and tenant disputes. Project Sentinel is recruiting volunteers to serve as Fair Housing Testers. Testers help expose discrimination in the housing market by posing as prospective tenants and reporting on their experience. Testers are used as needed and earn stipends, typically $15 to $55 per test, plus mileage and expense reimbursements. To qualify, applicants must be 18 or older, attend a tester training session, and complete a practice test and background check.
