The Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program provides housing assistance to low-income homeless households, households at risk of homelessness, or those fleeing domestic violence.

Through this program, you can get assistance in the form of rental subsidy, deposits, and case management services for up to 12 months. Families with children are given preference.

Please be aware that space in the program is limited. Enrollment depends on available federal funding and the number of clients currently being served.

Program Criteria

To be eligible for assistance, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Reside in the City of Santa Clara (or have proof of at least a permanent address in the City)
• Currently work in the City of Santa Clara (or have a verifiable job offer in the City)
• Have children in Santa Clara schools

In addition to the above criteria, you must have a gross household income at or below 60% Area Median Income (AMI).
