Doing Business with the City

Vendor Registration

The City of Santa Clara has partnered with BidNet Direct to advertise, post, distribute, facilitate, and receive electronic responses to the City’s solicitations. Vendors are encouraged to register with BidNet Direct, California Purchasing Group, to receive notifications and access information about current and past bid opportunities. While BidNet Direct does offer optional services for which they charge a fee, there is no cost to register, receive, and respond to City of Santa Clara bid opportunities.

If you have questions or need assistance registering, contact BidNet Direct Vendor Support at 800-635-4603, option 2, or visit the Bid Web Portal

Business Tax and License

All businesses are required to have a valid business license from the City of Santa Clara to transact business or occupy space in the City. Businesses located outside of the City but conducting business activity within city limits are also required to have a Santa Clara business license. For more information or to register your business, please refer to the City’s Business Tax and License webpage.

Insurance

Vendors who perform services for the City will be required to submit proof of insurance coverage as specified by the City’s risk manager.
