The Santa Clara Fire Department enforces the 2022 California Fire Code with local amendments. The local amendments to the Santa Clara Municipal Fire & Environmental Code are available online.
As a CUPA (Certified Unified Program Agency), the Santa Clara Fire Department Community Risk Reduction Division also enforces portions of the California Health and Safety Code and the California Code of Regulations that relate to hazardous waste, hazardous waste treatment at fixed facilities, underground storage tanks, petroleum stored in aboveground tanks and the California Accidental Release Prevention Program.
