Fees

Hazardous Waste Fees
The Santa Clara Fire Department Community Risk Reduction Division assesses fees to fund the Division and the programs it is mandated to implement. Companies that generate and/or treat hazardous waste are billed annually based on the highest tier of treatment and the amount of hazardous waste generated. The State of California also assesses a surcharge on business that are part of the Unified Program. The Santa Clara Fire Department collects the surcharges and forwards them to the State. These fees are billed with the annual business tax according to this Hazardous Waste Schedule.
