Who is Sparky the Fire Dog®?

Sparky the Fire Dog is the official mascot of the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA). As a symbol of fire safety, Sparky was "born" March 18, 1951 and over the years has advertised key fire safety messages and been featured as part of NFPA's Fire Prevention Week themes. Sparky is a cue to action, mentor, sage, lovable, and smart. For seven decades, Sparky has worked hard to make communities safer from fire!
