The Community Gardens feature demonstration areas and rented raised beds for individuals and groups to grown their own organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. Explore these spaces, designed to promote sustainable gardening, native plants, and environmental stewardship.
The Eddie Souza Community Garden features a home composting demonstration, cold frame & greenhouse boxes, native & honey bee housing displays, california native & drought-tolerant plant beds, mini fruit tree orchard with nine citrus trees from around the world, and a children’s sensory bed – touch, taste, explore!
The Copper Place Community Garden features a welcoming space for community members to grow and connect. The garden features 24 raised garden beds and a variety of fruit trees.

All garden beds have been assigned, but you can join the waitlist for free. Choose between Eddie Souza or Copper Place garden and join your preferred garden location.
Garden Membership Guidelines
- One bed per household, group, or organization
- Two or more households may share one bed
- One-year membership, renewable for up to three years total
- After three years, members may place themselves back on the waitlist to reenter the lottery process for a garden bed.
- Please review the Garden Member Agreement for all the rules and expectations of garden members.
Priority Order:
- Mailing Address: Proof of address will be requested during registration
- Eddie Souza Garden: Santa Clara residents within ½ mile from the garden
- Copper Place Garden: Santa Clara residents living within the Community Facilities District (CFD)
- CalFresh recipients
- Santa Clara senior residents
- Families with children in the Santa Clara Unified School District
