General Park Rules 

City of Santa Clara Park facilities are available to use on a first-come, first-serve basis if not previously permitted. The following rules apply to all City of Santa Clara Park facilities being used without a permit.

  • Use is non-exclusive and groups must be 50 people or less. Any gathering larger than 50 people requires a permit
  • No alcohol is allowed.
  • Smoking is prohibited within enclosed public places pursuant to the Code of the City of Santa Clara section 8.35.040. Smoking is prohibited in the park (California Health and Safety Code, Section 104495).
  • Amplified sound is not allowed. A small, hand-held stereo with attached speakers can be used. Sound levels may not disturb park users or adjacent picnic area attendees and must be adjusted at the request of City staff.
  • No balloons are allowed for games or decorations.
  • No additional tables, chairs, canopies or barbecues/grills/smokers may be brought into the park.
  • At no time shall entry or exit in any part of the park, including the picnic areas be obstructed.
  • Vehicles are not allowed to drive into the park.
  • Inflatables (jump houses) are never allowed in any park without a permit.
  • Throwing of rice, birdseed, etc. is not permitted.
  • Egg toss, water balloons, sidewalk chalk, and powder pigment/paint are not allowed.
  • Dogs must always be on a 6-foot leash.
  • Smoking or burning of items (incense, candle, etc.) is prohibited.
  • Commercial activities as defined as activities intended for making a profit are prohibited without the specific written permission of the City Permit/License and in conformance with City Code. Commercial or profit-making activities are not allowed. This includes charging admission, selling products, or soliciting donations.

The City of Santa Clara is not responsible for accidents, injury, illness, or loss of group or individual property. In case of an emergency call 911.

Off Leash Dog Park/Area Rules

  • Small Dog Area- 18" shoulder height or less.
  • Children under 5 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Park may be closed during and after extreme wet weather.
  • Dogs must be accompanied by their handler at all times.
  • No more than two (2) dogs per adult allowed at one time.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times outside of fenced enclosure.
  • All dogs must wear proof of valid license and vaccination.
  • Dogs in heat are not allowed.
  • The City of Santa Clara reserves the right to request removal of any dog displaying aggressive or anti-social behavior.
  • Use of the dog park is at your own risk.
