MenuGeorge F. Haines International Swim Center
Status Updates
Due to facility conditions, the International Swim Center was closed in January 2024. This site provides inspection reports, City Council updates and the most recent community updates.
On December 9, 2025, the City Council approved the award of a Public Works Contract to International Swim Center LLC, a Joint Venture between Adams Pool Solutions and Mark Scott Construction, in the amount of $24,680,981, and direct staff to return to City Council with a Phase 2 project implementation plan. Based on this action, site demolition is tentatively scheduled to begin in March 2026. Here is a link to the full Report to Council.
From the north (upper) end of the site, key features of the rehabilitated site will include:
- Rehabilitation of all three pools, including plumbing and electrical upgrades
- Elevated and deepened racing pool deck, and a new gutter system
- New dive tower
- New pool mechanical building, featuring outdoor showers, upgraded mechanical systems, a staff office, Parks Division aquatics storage, and a dedicated delivery driveway (e.g., chlorine)
- New staircase for the training pool, improving access for water fitness, learn-to-swim programs, Special Olympics athletes, and senior swimmers
- Pool deck storage for lane lines and pool covers
- New perimeter fencing
- Major utility and conduit installation to support full site infrastructure
-
ADA upgrades throughout the pool deck, entrances, and exits
The rendering below reflects the full scope of the project, with a placeholder for future Phase 2 improvements, such as a new building, shade canopy, and additional accessory structures. Phase 2 design is tentatively scheduled to begin in Summer 2026.
The City remains committed to the rehabilitation efforts at the ISC. As new information becomes available, this project page will continue to be updated.
