Status Updates

Due to facility conditions, the International Swim Center was closed in January 2024. This site provides inspection reports, City Council updates and the most recent community updates.

On December 9, 2025, the City Council approved the award of a Public Works Contract to International Swim Center LLC, a Joint Venture between Adams Pool Solutions and Mark Scott Construction, in the amount of $24,680,981.

Phase I Update

The ISC Rehabilitation Project is currently underway. This first phase includes full rehabilitation of the pools, upgrades to mechanical and plumbing systems, utility improvements, and the addition of a new dive tower and mechanical building with outdoor showers.

Since February 4, City staff have been meeting weekly with the contractor and design team to review project updates, coordinate permits, evaluate submittals, navigate utilities, and prepare the site. Construction activities have begun, including site work and the installation of fencing, project signage, security cameras, heavy equipment, and a work trailer. The contractor has submitted both the Storm Water Plan and demolition plan, which are currently under consultant review.

Crews are actively marking utilities and preparing the site. The George Haines bronze bust has been safely removed and placed in temporary storage. Work is also underway to dewater and remove the dive well bleachers. Building demolition is anticipated to begin in mid-to-late April. The project remains on track for completion in mid-to-late 2027.

Phase II Update

The next of the project will focus on constructing a new administrative building. Additional improvements may be included, depending on available funding, such as repairs to the existing bleachers, replacement of the bleacher canopy, and upgrades to nearby accessory buildings.

The City is currently in the process of selecting a professional design consultant to support schematic design, prepare construction documents for public works bidding, and assist through the bidding, construction, and post-construction phases. Schematic design is expected to begin in summer 2026, with construction documents anticipated by early 2028.

The City remains committed to the rehabilitation efforts at the ISC. As new information becomes available, this project page will continue to be updated.
