Committee Goals and Responsibilities
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is an advisory committee to the City Council on matters relative to the needs of bicyclists and pedestrians in Santa Clara. It's goal is to encourage recreational bicycling, commuter bicycling, and pedestrian activities by promoting safe, convenient, well designed facilities.
The BPAC consists of 8 member plus a Council Member who serves as the Committee Chair. Members must either live or work within the City of Santa Clara. Terms last three years and run from January 1 through December 31. Committee membership is approved by the City Council.
New memberships are selected at the October meeting. Applications are accepted during September and October. If you would like an application form, please email Marshall Johnson at MJohnson@SantaClaraCA.gov.
BPAC meetings are held on the fourth Monday in January, March, June, August and October at City Hall, Council Chambers. The meetings begin at 4:00pm and are open to the public. Information including agendas, minutes and audio recording are posted online, at the City Clerk's office, or available through Traffic Engineering at 408-615-3000.
