MenuBenton-Brokaw Multimodal Crossing Feasibility Study
The Benton-Brokaw Multimodal Crossing Feasibility Study explores opportunities to reconnect Benton Street and Brokaw Road across existing and planned rail infrastructure. The study will evaluate and compare potential crossing options through an engineering and planning assessment, with a focus on improving safety, connectivity, and mobility for all users.
By examining how people walk, bike, roll, drive, and access transit, the study seeks to strengthen connections to key destinations such as jobs, schools, grocery stores, and regional transit. Reestablishing this link presents an important opportunity to improve local and regional access, reduce travel barriers created by rail infrastructure, and support a more connected transportation network.
The project also considers how a future crossing could support long-term growth and development in the area, including improved access to the future BART extension and the Santa Clara Transit Center. Together, these improvements aim to enhance mobility and connectivity for Downtown Santa Clara and surrounding neighborhoods.
