Water & Sewer Utilities provides sewer services to residents and businesses in Santa Clara. Crews:
- build, maintain and inspect the City's sewer system
- if requested, install sewer lateral cleanouts for a small fee
Wastewater
More than 270 miles of sewer mains collect and carry sewage through six pumping stations to the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF). Wastewater is treated in three stages.
Most of the highly treated water is released to the south San Francisco Bay. Part of it delivered to the South Bay Water Recycling (SBWR) Project. The SBWR water is treated further and distributed as recycled water for landscapes and dual plumbing projects.
