The City Council held a two-day goal and priority setting session on Thursday, Jan. 31 and Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at the City Hall Council Chambers. During the sessions, the Mayor and City Council established goals for the next two years. This is important work because it sets the policy framework for budget decisions and how City resources are aligned in support of these objectives. The City Council validated the previously approved Council Priorities, updating #4 and adding #7:

On January 26, 2017 the Council held a Goal Setting Retreat, which can be viewed by visiting the City's Facebook page www.santaclaraca.gov/facebook. At this public meeting, the Council discussed and heard from the community on what the City should collectively focus on from 2017 through 2019. The Facilitator prepared a summation of the Retreat, and the Council Goal Setting Committee will be meeting to review on March 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Council Conference Room.
