FIFA World Cup 2026 – City Council Consideration
The Santa Clara City Council will consider establishing the FIFA World Cup 2026 Special Event Zone boundary and activation period at its meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
The proposed activation period for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Special Event Zone is:
- June 12, 2026 at 8 p.m. through July 2, 2026 at 6 a.m.
The proposed Special Event Zone would include a focused area surrounding Levi’s® Stadium and key ingress and egress corridors, including portions of Great America Parkway, Tasman Drive, Freedom Circle, Lafayette Street, and Lick Mill Drive, to support public safety, pedestrian mobility, emergency access, and event operations during FIFA World Cup 2026. The proposed boundary reflects lessons learned during Super Bowl LX and is designed to focus temporary regulations in areas with the highest anticipated operational activity while minimizing impacts to surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.
